In 2015 1LG was asked to create a website for the newly formed British Breeders’ Network BBN. At the time they had no idea what they wanted or even needed. We advised them that given the aims and objectives of the organisation, a community website where breeders could interact online, promote their businesses and youngstock for sale online would be a good idea.
That was in the December. By March the following year their fully-fledged membership style website was a reality. The new website, based on WordPress CMS with BuddyPress to handle the online community. A searchable UK Breeders Directory + eCommerce facilities to handle online member signups and recurring subscriptions were made available at launch.
News and articles from the website are automatically syndicated t the Network’s social media accounts, which we set up and manage for them on a regular basis and which now have several thousand followers. Online classified advertising functionality was added later, allowing breeders to upload their own content to showcase youngstock for sale to potential purchasers seeking to buy British-bred youngstock.
1LG hosts the BritishBreedersNetwork.org website, handles digital marketing on behalf of BBN including graphic design, press releases and advertising campaign management. 1LG is also responsible for designing and creating all BBN’s branding graphics, printed flyers and brochures, show catalogues, and tradestand popup graphics.
The website was search engine optimised from the start and ranks well for a number of other horse breeding related keywords. It currently ranks No. 1 and 2 on Google UK, for ‘horse breeders’, ‘UK horse breeders’, ‘equine breeders’, ‘UK equine breeders’ and of course ‘British Breeders’. By now the BBN had attracted the attention of the major British equestrian sport institutions i.e. BEF, BHS, BD, BE, BS and even the Federation Equestre Internationale FEI.
British Breeders’ Network (BBN) aims to support and promote the breeding of all types of British-bred horses and ponies – from native breeds to Thoroughbreds – riding horses to future Olympic champions – for the benefit of all British equine breeders. 1LG designed and developed a community website for the BBN. Within a few short months of its launch, the website had attracted hundreds of new members.
