SEO Web Design & Digital Marketing Since 2000
Our project planning process for delivering a successful website development project
1LG Digital has 20+ years of project management experience in delivering successful web design & development projects—from brochure sites to complex eCommerce online stores. Our clients benefit from our prior experience working with multi-national Oracle development projects before setting up 1LG Digital in the Year 2000.
We’ve honed our processes over 20+ years to provide the best results
We take a structured approach to project management for every web design & development project we undertake, regardless of size, to ensure a successful outcome and positive ROI for us both. First, we get to know you and your business—your goals and aspirations, who your ideal customers are and what motivates them, so we can deliver a project that achieves more for you by giving your visitors what they want.
A typical small-medium custom web design & development project takes around 6—8 weeks

Larger Web Design Projects
Large or complex web design & development projects may take around 8—12 weeks
Larger projects, for example, eCommerce projects, custom code development, custom design, content creation, social media integration and landing page creation to support ad campaigns will take longer to complete than a simple brochure website.
First, we establish your website design requirements and project goals, the functionality you require, preferred graphical “look & feel” and required timescales – ideally face-to-face if geography, time and budget permit. We also research your market to ensure we understand your business needs and can confidently propose a solution built around you and your users’ needs.
Before your project kicks off, you must pay a deposit and sign our contract, specifying project deliverables (e.g. web design & development, graphic design and SEO), contract price, respective responsibilities and target timescales.
Modern communications technology also enables us to work successfully with clients we never get to meet. With communications via a mix of inexpensive SKYPE / VOIP telephony, Messenger and email, we can provide high-quality, efficient, effective client service anywhere. Once your project begins, we also offer access to our online project management system, where you can see your new site taking shape, almost as it happens.
We usually offer up to 3 alternative visual design mock-ups (e.g. web page layout, logo and header graphics, website navigation and content areas) from which you can choose your preferred website design ‘look & feel’. We can use your existing client logo or work with you to design a new logo that reflects and projects your unique corporate identity online.
Initial mock-ups are modified and refined based on feedback. We adjust the design, navigation and functionality to match the agreed specification and (within reason) keep working until you are happy. We may create several design iterations for your perusal before you approve the final design selection.
Once you approve the design, we begin development. We employ W3C-approved HTML5 code and external CSS3 styling for web standards compliance, accessible on Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Opera and Safari, optimised from the outset to be search friendly and mobile responsive to work on desktop, tablet and smart-phones.
We use proven SEO methods to research and embed relevant keywords in your web content for optimum Google, Bing and Yahoo search ranking and user appeal.
Successful projects rely on close working relationships with our clients and third parties (e.g. photographers, artists and printers). We provide progress reports and encourage you to view work in progress on our server and offer feedback to ensure the project stays on schedule.
On project completion, we conduct extensive in-house testing of website deliverables. Testing includes general functionality, site links, code validation and cross-browser compatibility to ensure a more search engine friendly website so a higher number of more relevant visitors can find you online.
If applicable, we train you to use WordPress CMS before final client testing and acceptance once you are satisfied with what we have provided. Website ‘go-live’ occurs following formal project acceptance and payment of the balance.
On expiry of the 60-day warranty, we offer an optional software support contract to ensure your website enjoys maximum ‘up-time’, remains up-to-date and continues to meet your business objectives. Alternatively we can provide support and maintenance at our then current hourly rates.
